Who are we?

Texas Gymnastics is a student-led organization that welcomes gymnasts from all background and experience levels. We offer two teams: Recreational and Competitive. Any student of the University of Texas at Austin has the option of being on either team based on their comfortability competing. As per our Constitution and Bylaws, NAIGC Alumni are welcome to workout with us during normal practice hours. Please contact our President to join either of our teams or drop by for a workout if you are NAIGC Alumni.

Though student-led, we would not be possible without the organizations and businesses below! Each one plays a large role in furthering the development of our team. We are a sponsered UT RecSports Club team that competes in the Texas Gymnastics Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Gymnastics Clubs. Thanks to Austin Gymnastics Club, we have access to a beautiful practice facility with excellent equipment and ample room for our gymnasts to improve and develop their skills and routines. AGC not only competes in the "Open Division" of our TGC meets, but they also allow us to use their facility to host meets in Austin!

Thank you to each organization for all of your assistance in helping our Longhorns stay active and healthy. Below are discriptions of each of our benefactors.

UT Recreational Sports

"The Sport Club program consists of registered student organizations that make up the University of Texas Sport Club Association (UTSCA). Each club offers students the opportunity to pursue a higher degree of participation with a group of individuals interested in the same sport. The UTSCA promotes student participation in a variety of sports, contributes to the development of student leadership and provides a bond between individual clubs.

Each club is formed, developed, governed and administered by the student membership of the club working in conjunction with RecSports. While RecSports assists in the development and growth of each club, the emphasis of the program is on student leadership and involvement. The existence of each sport club and the UTSCA is dependent upon student interest and participation."

National Association of Intercollegiate Gymnastics Clubs

"The purpose of the NAIGC is to expand opportunities for participation in the sport of gymnastics and to promote interaction among collegiate gymnastics clubs by providing structure for competition on local, regional, and national levels; facilitating communication; and building a community of support and camaraderie that encourages sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, and fun."

Texas Gymnastics Conference

"The Texas Gymnastics Conference (TGC) is an organization of men’s and women’s gymnastics clubs, which is organized and run by college students. The TGC facilitates a season of competitive meets among its members every year ending with the TGC Conference Championships. TGC member clubs also compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Gymnastics Clubs (NAIGC) National Championships every year."

Schools with teams in the Texas Gymnastics Conference are the University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M University, Texas State University, University of Houston, Baylor University, Texas Tech University, UT  Dallas, UT San Antonio, UT Arlington, UT El Paso, Texas Christian University, University of Oklahoma, and Tulane University.

Austin Gymnastics Club

AGC is owned and operated by head coach Adrian Eissler. Adrian has graciously allowed for his gym to serve as home to Texas Gymnastics, as we do not have an on-campus facility.  Adrian has enabled us to host local meets here in Austin, and new rules in the TGC have allowed for his upper-level gymnasts to participate in our competitions in the spring through an Open Division.

"We expect that our kids will want to explore many other activities, so we also want to give them a strong physical and mental foundation for other athletic endeavors and a lifetime of general fitness.  Some competitive programs discourage advanced gymnasts from playing other sports or trying out other gyms.  Our kids are welcome and encouraged to explore other gyms and activities."
